Allen tells me that after WWI, soldiers returned home speaking of the poppies that sprang up in ‘No Man’s Land’ on the North Sea front. Nothing grew after the war. Absolutely nothing. Except red poppies.
Here they dot the landscape every where. Along roadsides. In the fields. Even growing up the stone walls of Manses - a near by town. I missed a truly great photo there or I'd show you.
