Word has it that the mayor gave everyone in town a rose bush to plant some years ago. How may years ago? 30? 100? I don’t know.
Since then it has become the “Most Beautiful Village in France” largely due to the roses on every doorstep.
The weather has been unseasonably cold so the roses are shy and not as many in full bloom as usual, my host says. Darn.
But still so very beautiful.
